Amazon Frontlines (www.amazonfrontlines.org) is a U.S. 501c3 organization based in the Western Amazon that works alongside Indigenous Peoples to advance indigenous rights and autonomy, defend indigenous rainforest territories and cultures, and protect some of the most biodiverse rainforest on Earth

Position Overview

We seek an innovative and passionate Digital Organizer to help us build global support and win campaigns for Indigenous rights and Amazon protection. The Digital Organizer is responsible for creating and implementing online engagement strategies and programs to develop an active and sustaining base of action-takers and online donors.  This position works closely with the Communications and Development teams and reports to the Communications Director with a dotted line to the Development Manager to reflect shared cross-departmental accountability for the work outlined below. The Digital Organizer’s work plan will be informed by both communications and development objectives.

 

This position is based remotely; with a preference for Latin America.

Essential Duties and Scope

  • Grow our base of action-takers and donors through email, digital advertising, texting, and other digital tools
  • Connect with potential action-takers and donors, move them up the ladder of engagement, and deepen their commitment to the organization
  • Work with the Manager of Digital Strategies to develop and implement strategies to engage different audiences on a successful user journey
  • Partner with the Development Manager and Manager of Digital Strategies to develop and implement savvy fundraising campaigns and peer to peer fundraising
  • Amplify the voices, stories, and experiences of our Indigenous partners through integrated organizing and digital content strategies, and work directly with our partners to develop Indigenous-made content including blogs and emails.
  • Craft engaging emails for general communications, campaigns, and online fundraising
  • Identify organizing opportunities to escalate campaigns and assist or lead rapid response actions
  • Create strategic and compelling calls-to-action and manage content for online action pages (petitions, donation pages, etc.)
  • Manage the organization’s list message calendar across the communications and fundraising teams
  • Support administration of the organization’s CRM
  • Make recommendations to optimize the organization’s digital organizing and fundraising based on best communications and fundraising practices and use of tech tools
  • Run A/B tests for emails, ads and text messages as appropriate; use back-end analytics to analyze performance and adjust content and strategies accordingly
  • Implement social media and Google ad buys and track ad performance to drive campaign engagement and fundraising
  • Manage data and tracking systems in collaboration with the Manager of Digital Strategies and Development Manager and make recommendations for improvement
  • Respond to donor queries
  • Help action-takers and donors share their stories and testimonials.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the work of the organization as a whole.

Qualifications and Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 2-3 years of experience in nonprofit digital organizing, with a strong preference for experience in digital fundraising
  • Passion for social, racial, and climate justice and Indigenous rights
  • Excellent writing skills. Able to write persuasively, clearly and quickly.
  • English-Spanish written and spoken language fluency
  • Strong organization and tracking skills. You keep projects moving, pay attention to detail, make sure things don’t slip through the cracks, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in coalition and collaborate in the creation of campaign content with partners
  • Proficiency in Google Suite
  • Knowledge of and experience working with digital platforms, including email marketing and texting tools, CRMS, project management tools, etc.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with and knowledge of Indigenous, Amazonian, and Latin American issues and social movements
  • Performance tracking and evaluation through analytics (Mailchimp, social media, digital advertising)
  • Facebook and Google ad campaigns and/or other paid digital programs
