After a year of campaigning and global solidarity, the A’i Cofan people of Sinangoe won another unprecedented victory earlier this year, when Ecuador’s Constitutional Court issued a groundbreaking ruling RECOGNIZING the right of Indigenous peoples to say ‘No’ to resource extraction on their lands.

The A’i Cofan and Waorani are now taking action to denounce the Ecuadorian Government’s failure to comply with these rulings. They need your help to call on the Constitutional Court to guarantee government compliance and comprehensive reparation measures for the violation of Indigenous peoples’ collective rights and the rights of nature!
Ecuador’s Constitutional Court has already recognized the right of Indigenous peoples to decide what happens on their lands. Now the Court and Ecuadorian government must show the world that these rulings and Indigenous people’s right to self-determination and free, prior, and informed consent are immediately applicable!
